DURATION: 30 Minutes
SYNOPSIS:
Ana Cacimba is a quilombola-descendant singer, multi-artist, and researcher of Afro-Brazilian traditional cultures. She gained prominence on social media by exploring her ancestry through the Asalato, an instrument from West Africa, of which she is the only female luthier in Brazil, reaffirming and embracing her identity and ancestors. In her music, she explores the universe of the Orixás, supporting her compositions with the asalato. The artist has emerged as an innovative force in the Brazilian music scene, with a career that celebrates and integrates the cultural traditions of her roots. Ana offers a unique experience that blends the richness of the Orixás, elements of Brazilian popular culture, and now, in a new phase of her career, incorporates pop music elements. Her latest release, "Ponto de Oxum," is a tribute to her Orixá of head. The song is a traditional Umbanda chant passed down to her as an inheritance from her grandmother, from whom she also inherited the name Ana. Produced by Dmax, who was nominated for a Grammy and has worked with Rouge, Clau, Vitão, and DAY LIMNS, "Ponto de Oxum" is available on all streaming platforms, and the music video can be found on her official YouTube channel.
